Dr. Vega brings over twenty years of professional hearing health experience to Olympia. A native of the Northwest, she obtained her bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Western Washington University and her doctoral degree in Audiology (Au.D.) from Utah State University. She began her career in Seattle and moved to Olympia in 2004 to practice with an ENT clinic. Dr. Vega opened her private practice in 2011 so that she could focus on the specialty of treatment for hearing loss, balance and tinnitus.

Dr. Vega specializes in differential diagnosis and treatment of hearing loss and tinnitus. She believes that the first step to better hearing begins with a complete diagnostic evaluation; Understanding the problem is the only way to really resolve the issues. Dr. Vega is known for a thorough and thoughtful approach to hearing loss and tinnitus treatment and ensures patient goals are met single every time.

A dedicated active member of our Olympia community, Dr. Vega serves on the Washington State Board of Hearing and Speech and is a member of the board for the Washington Center for Performing Arts. She enjoys volunteering in our community, providing hearing screenings and advocating for those who have hearing loss. She is a proud recipient of Utah State University's "Outstanding Young Professional" award and the business Examiner’s “40 under 40” award.

As much as she is dedicated to her profession, Dr. Vega enjoys spending time outside, especially when the sun is shining, with her family. She loves hiking, dancing, cooking, spending time on Puget sound and exploring the San Juan Islands. Dr. Vega is a sun lover!

Dr. Kayla Scott has lived in many places throughout the country and loves spending time with her family. She received her bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders from Brigham Young University before receiving her master’s in clinical audiology and Doctor of Audiology from Gallaudet University in Washington D.C. Dr. Scott takes a patient-centered approach is excited to practice within the full scope of audiology. She continues to train on specialized treatment with surgical options and Cochlear implants. She is certified with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and a member of the Academy for Doctors of Audiology.

Dr. Scott has a passion for music, which led to her pursuing a career in audiology so she could help others hear better and improve their own quality of life. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, crafting, reading, spending time with family and singing in her community choir.

Dr. Jessica Hesson, also a northwest native, received both her undergraduate degree and her Doctor of Audiology degree (Au.D.) from the University of Washington. Since she began her career, Dr. Hesson has practiced audiology in Ear, Nose, and Throat clinics as well as at Veteran’s Affairs clinics. She joined the team at Ascent Audiology & Hearing in 2018 so that she could broaden her ability to expand hearing healthcare treatment for patients in the South Sound region.

Dr. Hesson focuses primarily on diagnostic hearing evaluations and treatment for adults. Her professional philosophy is patient-centered care with evidence-based practice techniques. She focuses on creating treatment plans that include the most current hearing aid technology and include long-term hearing aid support and maintenance. Additionally, she strives to educate patients, with and without hearing loss, about effective communication resources, current amplification options, and community outreach programs.
She is a member of the Hawks Prairie Rotary Club and in her spare time, she enjoys hiking, quilting, working in her yard, and spending time with family. Dr. Hesson is a master at home projects!

Dr. Cory Scott is a native of the Pacific Northwest. He obtained his undergraduate degree in audiology from Brigham Young University and his doctorate in audiology (Au.D.) from The University of Washington in 2017. Dr. Scott joined our practice in 2020 and specializes in diagnostic hearing evaluations for newborns and pediatric patients, as well as vestibular assessment for patients that have dizziness. He enjoys differential diagnosis of complicated hearing issues and works very well in our collaborative team. Dr. Scott creates meaningful results for patients by performing thorough diagnostic evaluations and educating his patients on the results.

In his spare time, Dr. Scott enjoys spending time with his family, especially reading to his children at bedtime.

Jori joined our team in 2018. She and her family moved to Olympia and she began her career with us as a front desk/Patient Care Coordinator. Jori quickly demonstrated her passion for helping patients and ensuring a smooth process for patients and staff. She was promoted to Office Manager in 2019 and hasn't looked back! Jori is known for her sweet personality and her ability to accomplish any task put in front of her.

In her spare time, Jori enjoys spending time hiking with her family. Rain or shine, Jori and her husband take their kids out for adventures every weekend.
